As UX designers, we advocate for users’ needs and create solutions with user-centered methods. Yet technology increasingly causes harm: dependence, stress, exclusion, and alienation. What’s going wrong? This talk outlines the problems—but focuses on ways forward. We present a practical framework for responsible design, with principles and methods for everyday use. Our aim is to encourage UX practitioners to question assumptions, identify risks early, and build products that truly benefit people.

Benedikt Merz is a UX professional with over 13 years of experience. Drawing on his background in psychology and human-computer interaction he has worked in various sectors and roles. He is passionate about the intersection of UX Research & Conceptual.

Andreas Wolters has an academic background in Psychology and Cognitive Science and has been working as a User Experience Researcher and Designer for more than 10 years. After various positions in London and the Netherlands, Andreas founded Studio Llama together with Benedikt.
